Dr. B. R. Ambedkar (1891–1956) was one of India’s most influential leaders—an economist, jurist, social reformer, and the chief architect of the Indian Constitution. He dedicated his life to fighting social discrimination, especially against the Dalit (formerly “untouchable”) community.

 विश्व हिंदी दिवस

हिंदी है हमारी पहचान, हिंदी से ही है हमारा सम्मान।

विश्व हिंदी दिवस  हर साल 10 जनवरी को मनाया जाता है।

उद्देश्य:

  • हिंदी भाषा को अंतरराष्ट्रीय स्तर पर बढ़ावा देना

  • विश्वभर में हिंदी के उपयोग, सम्मान और महत्व को प्रोत्साहित करना

इतिहास:

  • 10 जनवरी 1975 को नागपुर में पहला विश्व हिंदी सम्मेलन आयोजित हुआ था

  • उसी स्मृति में यह दिन मनाया जाता है

भारत में महत्व:

  • यह दिन विदेश मंत्रालय और भारतीय दूतावासों द्वारा विशेष रूप से मनाया जाता है

  • कवि सम्मेलन, संगोष्ठियाँ, निबंध प्रतियोगिताएँ और सांस्कृतिक कार्यक्रम आयोजित होते हैं

हिन्दी के तथ्य

  1. हिंदी शब्द फारसी शब्द 'हिंद' से लिया गया है। इसका अर्थ है सिंधु नदी की भूमि।
  2. पहला हिंदी जर्नल 2000 में प्रकाशित हुआ था। यह वर्ल्ड वाइड वेब पर हिंदी भाषा की पहली उपस्थिति थी।
  3. उर्दू को प्रतिस्थापित करते हुए हिंदी को अपनी आधिकारिक भाषा घोषित करने वाला भारत का पहला राज्य बिहार था।
  4. विश्वभर में लगभग 60 करोड़ लोगों की मातृभाषा हिंदी है।
  5. 1977 में अटल बिहारी वाजपेयी ने हिंदी भाषा के प्रति गर्वपूर्वक सम्मान प्रदर्शित करते हुए संयुक्त राष्ट्र में हिंदी भाषा में भाषण दिया था।
  6. न्यूजीलैंड, नेपाल, संयुक्त अरब अमीरात, युगांडा, मॉरीशस, फिजी, सूरीनाम, गुयाना, बांग्लादेश, त्रिनिदाद, टोबैगो और पाकिस्तान में हिंदी भाषा बोली जाती है।
  7. कई हिंदी शब्द जो अक्सर बोले जाते हैं जैसे 'अच्छा' और 'सूर्य नमस्कार' को ऑक्सफोर्ड डिक्शनरी में शामिल किया गया है।
  8. प्रख्यात कवि अमित खुसरो पहले ऐसे लेखक थे जिन्होंने हिंदी में पहली कविता की रचना की और उसे प्रकाशित किया।
  9. 26 जनवरी, 1950 को संसद के अनुच्छेद 343 के तहत हिंदी भाषा को प्राथमिक भाषा माना गया था।
  10. पहले हिंदी टाइपराइटर 1930 के दशक में बनाए गए थे।

Savitribai Phule (born January 3, 1831, Naigaon [now in Maharashtra state], India—died March 10, 1897, Poona [now Pune]) was social reformer and pioneer of education for women in India. She was one of the first female teachers in India and opened several schools for girls with her husband, Jyotirao Phule. She also played a key role in the Satyashodhak Samaj (“Society of Truth Seekers”), a society founded by Jyotirao Phule in 1873 to promote social equality. Savitribai Phule is often cited as a role model for women’s empowerment and feminism in India.

 

Key Contributions & Activism

  • Pioneering Education: With Jyotirao, she founded India's first school for girls in 1848, facing intense social backlash, including physical abuse, and carried a spare sari for when she was pelted with mud.
  • Multiple Schools: They established over 18 schools for girls and marginalized communities, teaching science, math, and social sciences, outnumbering British-run schools.
  • Satyashodhak Samaj: Co-founded this society for social equality, advocating for inter-caste marriages and challenging Brahminical dominance.
  • Women's Rights: Campaigned against child marriage, female infanticide, and the practice of shaving widows' heads, establishing a shelter for pregnant widows (Infanticide Prohibition Home).
  • Literary Work: A pioneer of Marathi poetry, her works like Kavya Phule (1854) inspired social change. 

Later Life & Legacy

  • Leadership: Took over leadership of the Satyashodhak Samaj after Jyotirao's death, even lighting his funeral pyre herself, defying tradition.
  • Plague Relief: Established a clinic for plague victims and died on March 10, 1897, from the disease while caring for patients.
  • Enduring Symbol: Remembered as a feminist icon, a champion of the oppressed, and a catalyst for women's empowerment in India.

 NATIONAL CONSTITUTION DAY

Constitution Day also known as ‘Samvidhan Divas’, is celebrated in our country on 26th  November every year to commemorate the adoption of the Constitution of India. On 26th   November 1949, the Constituent Assembly of India adopted the Constitution of India, which came into effect from 26th   January 1950. 

The Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment on 19th November 2015 notified the decision of Government of India to celebrate the 26th day of November every year as ‘Constitution Day’ to promote Constitution values among citizens.
